Miami is a major city in southeastern Florida, in the United States. Known as the “Magic City,” Miami lies in Southeast Florida on the Miami River between the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida Everglades. Ranked the nation’s #1 Healthiest City by Natural Health Magazine in 2002, Miami caters to action-oriented visitors from around the globe with some of the world's top golf, tennis and sporting facilities. Miami makes one of the nation’s most well-rounded metropolitan destinations.

This is a city closely bound up with the sea it sits besides. Miami is one of the smallest cities in land area in the nation, encompassing only 35.67 square miles. Due to its proximity to Latin America, Miami serves as headquarters for Latin American operations for many multinational corporations, including Disney, Microsoft, Sony, Exxon and SBC Communications. Several other large companies are headquartered in Miami, including Burger King, DHL and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Miami is home to many art galleries and museums including Lowe Art Museum and the Vizcaya-Miami Art Museum.

Miami has a humid subtropical climate, falling just short of a true tropical climate that ensures plenty of sunshine all year round. Rainfall occurs mainly during summer and early autumn. The city does experience cold fronts from November through March, however most of the year is warm and humid, and the summers are reminiscent of a true tropical climate. The winters usually last from early November to late April. Summers usually last from May to October.

Miami has an excellent public school system that includes many options for students, including special education centers and magnet school programs. The University of Miami is the largest, most comprehensive private research university in the southeastern United States. It has a reputation for academic excellence.

The Miami Metropolitan Area is home to sports franchises in every major league: the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, the NBA’s Miami Heat, MLB’s Florida Marlins and the NHL’s Florida Panthers. Miami is also the home of the Miami Orange Bowl, the home site for all University of Miami Hurricanes football games. Miami is also home to Paso Fino horses, where competitions are held at Tropical Park Equestrian Center.

When it comes to real estate, Miami is a competitive market. Miami is a beautiful city, and Miami Condos and Homes are just as beautiful. Miami is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and Miami real estate is some of the most desirable real estate in the world. Accommodation in Miami can be a little expensive, but there are certainly a large number of hotels to choose from. Miami offers its residence and visitors an excellent local public transportation program which includes the Metrorail, the Metrobus, and Tri-rail. For tennis players, public courts are located throughout the area. Water sports include boating, fishing, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, water-skiing, jet-skiing, and canoeing.
